The UK provides some of the best polo worldwide for Juniors. The main two avenues for children to play are the within The Pony Club and the HPA’s Junior programme.

The Pony Club has over 50,000 members and polo is one of its strongest disciplines. The vast majority of all British polo professionals started their polo careers in the Pony Club. At Oxford Polo we are in the heart of the Pony Club’s Area 9 and Area 12 and we are proud to provide coaching to the local Pony Clubs including the Heythrop and the Grafton. Pony Club Polo is one of the best ways for youngsters to get involved in polo in the school holidays.

There is a wide range of levels starting at Under 11 years right up to Under 21. Oxford Polo coaches the local Pony Club teams throughout the year. We host an annual pony club camp with the Heythrop where we also provide horse hire to those who don’t have their own ponies and are always on hand to give advice to parents new to the sport. All our coaches and professionals including MD David, and manager Tom, have grown up playing pony club polo and are delighted to be a part of maintaining its strong development of future stars.

The Junior HPA tournaments run in the school summer holiday. There are two age groups, under 15 which is called Hipwood and under 18 which is known as Buckmaster. The divisions are named after two of England’s highest ever handicapped players.

Oxford Polo is delighted to announce its sponsorship of a team in each division this year. Both will play as Oxford Polo and we will be assisting them with their coaching and team management. Have a look at the teams and players page on our Community pages
