The Tudor Hall girls have been with us at Oxford Polo since 2013. They have gone from strength to strength in these years. Having started out with a once a week session, at the beginning of the Autumn term 2015 demand increased and they now regularly come twice a week. With the majority of the girls being extremely competent riders they are a pleasure to coach a certainly the most helpful around the yard.
Tudor Hall’s two teams took part in the SUPA National Girls’ Schools Polo Championships at the Longdole Polo Club back in June 2015 and both teams excelled. The A team won their first match against Heathfield 3 -0 and drew their second match, also against Heathfield, 1 -1. These results saw them into the Division 1 final, where they were narrowly beaten by Stowe 0-1 in a very exciting chukka. Lorna Fleming, Iona Frisby, Hannah Mills and Katie Radford made up the A team and a special mention to Lorna, who was named Most Promising Player of the tournament.
The B team featured some promising young players who played extremely well against more experienced teams. Annabel Beale, Clemmie Beale, Charlotte Dogley and Daisy Flach, were unlucky to lose their opening match against Rugby 0 -1, and held Dean Close to a goalless draw. In their final match, they lost to a very strong Millfield team who were the eventual winners of Division 2. Tudor Hall B finished 3rd in their group which was a very creditable performance.
